Well, it was both. It was long cause there were loads to write, and it was quick cause two hours went by way too quickly. I had three questions, meaning 40 minutes per question. I was expected to write about 4 pages for each question.
Imagine that. My fingers we numb and my back was hurting after that two hours of not moving anything else other than my hand trying to scribble as much information I could get on paper.
When the invigilator announced "You're reading time ends now. bla bla bla." , the girl sitting in front of me started her scribbling marathon. Hell, was she fast! Like crazy fast.
While I was still filling in my attendance slip, she was already scribbling halfway through the paper.
Before I knew it, she flipped to the next page!
Imagine how freaked out I was!
And I was kinda stuck at the start, not knowing how to start my introduction for my first essay.

But at least that was over.

Tomorrow afternoon, I've got Relationship Marketing.
I like this one much better in a sense that it covers much more interesting topics and I think I would have more to write about. *fingers crossed*
But then, with the friggin time constraint, even if I have a million things in my head, I wouldn't get it down on paper in time.

I've been studying all day and my brain's exhausted.
Reading stuff about loyalty, promiscuous behaviour, database marketing, commitment, trust, and all that stuff to maintain a healthy and long term relationship between... a marketer or firm and a consumer.
Sounds like studying an actual relationship huh?
But somehow I don't think I've done enough. There's always so much more to read and so much more to remember. There are so many journal articles sitting down on my table and I can't ready anymore of them.

And while I'm typing this, the boys are playing football on the ps2 and going "shit", "you missed that goal?!", "why isn't he running fast enough" and "goal!!!" in between their usual football-guy-talk and laughter.
Life sucks when you're still struggling through exams while your housemates are already enjoying themselves with tv, games, movies and late nights day after day.

But at least after tomorrow, I've got more days till the next paper, which is next Tuesday.
Five days to be exact.
But it'll fly by before you can say "super-cali-fragalistic-expi-ali-docious" (if that's how you spell that)

It's time to flip through a few more pages of my notes and then it's bedtime.

Till the next one,
take a break, have a kit-kat, and go play restaurant city so I can get free ingredients when I visit your restaurant!
T-W-O!!
It's so scary how time flies by like that.
Especially when you're wasting it with procrastination, restaurant city and day dreaming...

I'm alone at home cause everyone went to Ikea, without me.
Ikea's like my happy place.
The arrangement of everything just makes it so relaxing when I'm there.
And there's always so much to buy!!!
I never get to buy anything from Ikea back home cause the house has everything.
But here, Ikea's like my favorite place!
There's always something cheap (less than $5) to get or something pretty which I want but don't necessarily need.

Cause the guys are done with their semester (final presentation and papers), they've decided against waiting for me to visit ikea. So unfair.

Even though I'm wasting time typing this entry, I'd feel so guilty if I went to ikea.
I'd be rushing them to hurry so that I can get back to continue studying.
oh well, ikea's not running away and I can always go back there anytime...

Talking about exams, I'm only gaining my independence from all this in July!!!
Here's why :

15 June : Theory in Marketing
17 June : Relationship Marketing
23 June : Leadership in Organisations
25 June : Research Methodology SPSS Test

AND....

6th July : Research Proposal for final thesis due (worth 60% of my entire grade which I have yet to start!)

life sucks when exams are around the corner...

till the next one,
have a great weekend

Friday, June 12, 2009

just a quick one

Dralion was awesomeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Managed to take some pictures outside the tent in the cold!
Will update after my finals with the pictures...

But guess what?
I just found out that I've got a blogspot/blogger blog too!
owh my gawd. and that's ancient! like ages ago. march 2005.

Now i'm undecided if i should stay with xanga or head to blogspot/blogger for future posts.
I'm tempted to leave xanga cause i've been here for ages and i'm absolutely hating the layout of everything.
AND I've been procrastinating to change my header/look for years!
I would have a fresh start if I switch to blogger and learn something new from there too.

BUT, everything is here in my xanga blog.
my older posts and everything. I know it's not alot. But still....

So what do I do??
btw, my blogger one looks like crap.

http://tswng.blogspot.com/

there's where its at
Like a kid created it.
Oh well, who can blame me.
I was a kid four years back.
and the template that I used ages ago is fugly too!

Till the next one,
study hard… focus, people, FOCUS

Friday, June 12, 2009

DRALION....

An update after 6 months or so officially makes me the worst blogger ever!
and yes, it's exam season once again. Told you I'm always here when there are exams. Just a way to procrastinate my studying by doing something a little more productive other than watching the telly.

I've got loads to update here but I haven't got the time now.
I should actually be studying but I'm too excited and I can't concentrate!
that's cause.....

I'm going for my first show of the year here in Melbourne; Cirque du Soleil: Dralion
WOHOOOOO....
I'm soooo excited I can barely study. I've got my first paper this monday, that's just two days away but its so exciting lar...

They're here in Melbourne from April 10 till June 14!
Meaning they end this SUNDAY!
So, there's no other way for me to catch this after my finals.

I'll have updates about the show after I'm done with my papers, in about a months time.
Hopefully I get nice photos.'
which reminds me, I've gotta charge my camera!

Other than that exciting news, here's some updates about what's been happening over the past few months:
1. I've moved twice since I got here in February! The first two-storey apartment that we got was perfect. Nice, new and all that. But the idiotic owner didn't pay mortgage with the rent he got from us. Apparently, he's been owing the bank for quite some time. Then, we got a 'Notice to Vacate' about a month ago telling us that we needed to leave! That was a whole lotta panic and stress. Anyways, we managed to get a new place at the best location! Just opposite victoria market. Very close to the city and quite a nice one too. Rent's abit higher but we didn't really have a choice.

2. I've been having one hell of a panic semester. It went by so quickly! With more assignments compared to the whole of last year, all I've been doing lately was just slogging my ass off. It felt like I just started my first class a while back and now, finals is on Monday! Time doesn't fly anymore. It just zooms past you without saying hello.

3. Swine flu is friggin scary in Melbourne. There's over a thousand cases now just in this stupid state. I wonder how it spreads so quickly but it's scary. I went to take my flu jab about two weeks ago. Doesn't prevent me from the swine flu but at least it prevents me from the common ones here in Melb. Considering that it's winter now, everything gets passed around so easily. It's better to be careful.

4. It's been freezing cold over the past week. It's been so cold that we've been having the heaters on almost the entire day. I don't know if it's the old building that we're living in now or that it really is suddenly so cold but I've been taking (at least) three showers a day just to keep me warm. I know we're supposed to be saving water here in melb, but the showers help so much! Talking about that, I'm starting to worry about the electricity and water bill. It's gonna be shocking!

5. Restaurant city! That’s my new addiction. it's way better than coffee but it's slowing down now. I've been so addicted to fb games lately, that's all i do online (other than my assignments of course!). I'm a terrible fb user. I log on, check if anyone's birthdays are coming up and click on my restaurant city link straight away. Everything else on fb is just abit boring sometimes. But I've got my restaurant up and going now, and the satisfaction level is quite good. haha.

I think that's about it for now.
I've gotta have lunch, get back to a bit of studying and then get ready for the much anticipated show later!
Hopefully it'll be awesome!

till the next one,
fight the swine with all your might!

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Time's a wasting... tick. tock. tick. tock.

I'm what you call a time wasting champion.
Honestly, when I really should be studying my ass off for the next paper, I always find ways and means to waste my time with unnecessary rubbish. But then again, I'm not the only one doing things like this. My floormate, Nirupa is just the same. We're famous for taking two hour lunch breaks, one entire hour of tea break at 4pm, a whole hour refreshing break just to get boost juice along lygon and a stupid 'lets-just-waste-time' break gossiping about everything else that's less important than our work.

Before I can start studying in the morning, I'm thinking about what I should have for lunch already. I'll go to nirupa's room to ask her what we should have for lunch. Then we go for a long lunch somewhere nearby (cause we feel guilty if we go somewhere further away), take a very slow walk back home and then try to start our studying again. Then by 4pm, we're worrying about what we should have for dinner when we're not even hungry yet.

Most of us are time-wasting champs. Its just how extreme we are.
I'm one damn serious case with no cure.
Maybe its the coffee.
Too much of it doesn't help you concentrate.
It makes you waste more time.
Serious. Trust me on this.

I'm gonna to back to studying now.
I've wasted enough time typing this entry.

p/s: I realised that if i have exams more often, I'll be updating this place more often too. Haha.

Sunday, November 09, 2008

NOISE

Talk about being extremely efficient, i'm back again for yet another post.
Two in a day okay... its like a record for me considering me being invisible for the past months or so.

Actually it's just me.
I always and mostly only start rambling here when I'm sick of studying or taking a break or had some random thought and decided to blog about it.
Either way, it still constitutes as a post. So, thumbs up for me!

I'm actually supposed to be studying now. It's 9pm melbourne time here and I should be finishing a chapter for the night before I head to bed.
I really want to study.
I just cant

My room's facing the inside of the building and if I look out the window, I see the courtyard downstairs.
COOL rite?
yea, its cool when you want to be a busybody while taking breaks from your studying.
just pop your head outside the window to see what's happening downstairs.
To see if people are making a fool of themselves, sun bathing or making out under the sun. haha.

What's not cool is when people decide to have their bbq parties there.
What's a party without music and loud chatters all though the night?
What's a party without games, booze and laughter.

I'm totally fine with parties (especially if I'm part of it) when I'm not doing anything important at night.
I'm fine with the noise when I'm watching one tree hill, private practice or the amazing race.
I'm NOT fine with the partying and noise when I've got a final paper in two days and desperately need to study.
I hate it when they have music blasting on their speakers and when they sing-along to their fav songs.

I know i sound really selfish rite?
Just cause I'm studying, doesn't mean that noone else can live their life.
But can't they just do it somewhere else?
Ugh-ness...

and the sad thing is, they only close the courtyard doors at 10.
Which means, parties all noise and stuff ends at 10.
So, it's 9 now. An hour till the wonderful silence again and I can get back to my studying.

But the damn thing is,
I can't study late into the night.
By 11, I start loosing concentration and focus.
I start dreaming and my reading pace gets slower.
I think of food and supper and watching a movie.

Then I just give up studying and head to be.
Which essentially means that I can barely do anything and I'm off to bed.

oh goodness,

anyways, that's enough complaining for the day.

gonna go take a shower to cool myself off. its a hot night in melbourne.

night people.

Saturday, November 08, 2008

Excuses...

I soooo need to clear this place up. Do something about it. Change its pathetic black background or something. This place is in desperate need of a makeover. But then again, I've been procrastinating this for ages. Honestly, if I look through my blog, I'd come across an entry where I said that I WOULD do something about this place. But don't expect to see anything done here anytime soon.

I know excuses are for losers. ( i can't believe i'm even putting this up here)
But I have a damn good explanation for it. Blah!

Updates!

Finals are up. The thought of going through the same process all over again, semester after semester is kind of boring. I mean, what else is new? The end of the semester honestly makes a student's life rather pathetic. A month before we panic. We come up with our extremely planned out study schedule. 2 chapters a day to make sure we're all ready for the finals. Then, as students, we seldom follow the damn schedule. I wonder why we come up with it anyways. Then we realise, oh no, I'm behind schedule and I've gotta buck up or I'll never finish up in time. Fast Forward... we still make it. We still finish everything (almost everyone finishes almost everything) just in time for the paper. Whether you're an all-nighter staying up to force the last few bits of information into that tiny stubborn brain of yours or you're the extreme 'schedule-following-student', we all make through somehow. Then, we worry about the grades later on.

I'm in the midst of my finals right now. Actually, my FINAL final.
Being this the last semester of my Bachelor degree, I'm used to the 'panic-exam-mode' every semester. Used to the 'boring-all-you-do-is-study' days. Even more used to the 'oh,shit! the paper's tomorrow and I don't think I'm really ready!' situation.
Part of me loves it that I'll be done with it all after this finals.
A bigger part of me hates the thought of leaving the 'student life' and take my uber huge step into the 'adult-working, no-school holidays, 9-5 money making' life.
Honestly, who's ever ready for that?
I guess its just a step that we've all gotta take somehow.
Like how we worry about our finals. We think we're really not ready and don't think we should step into the hall to take the paper. But somehow we still do. We still walk inside, sit at that desk, stare at that paper, open it, answer the questions (whether you actually know the answers to them or not), write/scribble as fast as your fingers can go, and go 'phew' after the time is up and hand them in.
I know, I ramble.
I could have just gone 'we just do it eventually, whether we like it or not'
*but what fun is it if everything is just written in one-boring-line sentences?

Anyhoww...
I'm done with two papers and I've got another two more to go.
Servies Marketing and Organisational Structure and Development.
After this coming Tuesday and Friday, I can finally go 'Wohooooo' and start packing for home.
Its been about 9 months since I've left home and part of me kinda misses it alot despite the fact that I do love Melbourne.

But I'm coming back.
Wahahahhaa...

Updates soon.
Either after exam or when I'm back home in my comfy room.
Either way, it'll be soon. No excuses next time.

Wish me luck.

best of luck to all facing their 'exam fears'

p/s: happy belated 21st birthday michelle! I hope you enjoyed it loads. Hope you liked your gift and pamper yourself with it. and all the best for your exams. see you back in kl!

Sunday, October 05, 2008

is this wicked or what ??

Last Friday, I finally managed to watch the musical that I've been longing to ever since I saw the ads up on the trams and on just almost every tour guide book in Melbourne.

Wicked the Musical, which is just about the awesome-est Broadway musical ever has been in Melbourne since July. And tickets have been sold old since forever.
Jean and I have been trying to get tickets (with really good seats) and everything was always sold out.
We went to the ticketing office THREE TIMES!!! before we managed to get ours. No kidding!
And thankfully, we managed to get quite good seats with a good view of the stage and everything.

You know how we watched The Wizard of Oz when we were kids with the Wicked Witch of the West being the meanest one of all.
Like all fairy tales and stories, there's always the bad character, always the ugliest looking possible to try to scare the hell outta the kids, making sure they always do good to prevent a nasty visit from the witch, yada yada yada.

This musical was a really good one, making the bad character not as bad as we expect it to be.
Music, talent, props, dances and everything was up to expectations..
Just about as good as the Phantom of the Opera which I watched last year in Singapore.

So, if you're in Melbourne and if Wicked is still playing, go grab yourself some tickets cause its a musical to remember...

just outside the regent theatre
we bought ourselves green oz-mopolitans

and it comes with glowing martini glasses
with a green glow of course

so we tried to do funny things with the glow-y glass

and...

School's back and I've been rather busy again.
School work, assignments, studying and working is taking up quite alot of my time..

Even with all that, I forced myself to find time to go snowboarding before all the snow melts.
With extremely minimal planning, we planed and decided to go in a day (four days before).
Somehow, I figured out that only last minute things work out.

Annie-hauu,
ROAD-TRIP! wohoo..
Haven't been on a road trip with jean for years. I think the last time we went on one was the Langkawi Trip in Form 3, or the mini jerjak trip in Form 4.

We went to stay at jean's place the night before so that we could leave early the next morning.
Left Melbourne at about 7.45am and off we were, to Falls Creek. The very long 4 and a half hour journey was worth every single bit.
The snow was so nice and pure and it felt like I left all my worries way down in the city.
We could not wait any longer and the moment we arrived, we checked into our room and off we were to rent our board and boots!
The boots were heavy and so was the board, and I felt as though I was three times my size in those pants that we hired. Nevertheless, no complaints, cause they did a great job keeping me warm.

Note to all: I have never gone snowboarding before.
This is my first and very painful time.

Just standing up on the board was a challenge.
It took me a while just to be able to stand up and move around with the heavy board clipped to my extremely heavy boots!
Even after I got the hang of it, I still kept falling every now and then.
My knees and butt bone hurt real bad.

If a normal beginner fell three hundred times in a day, I think I fell three times more.
I'd probably be in the book of records for the first ever beginner to fall more times than a normal one should.
But all the pain and bruises were all worth it.
It felt great being able to snowboard down from the top. The feeling is awesome and I wouldn't mind all that pain again for another go. Not anytime soon but probably next year.

Ohya, and on top of that, I got sun-burned!
Imagine me looking like a burnt cookie just outta the oven.

But everything was all worth it!
I'm not in the blogging mood that's why this entry is so crappy.
Just thought of updating for abit with some pictures.

jean trying to keep her phone safe from the snow in a zip-lock bag.
